A Vintage Christmas Ornament by Jami
I’m so happy to be back making cards! It feels like it’s been forever since I had the opportunity to create one. I drew inspiration from creative people on the internet who use metal cookie cutters as outlines to make quick Christmas cards. While my card wasn’t quick, I enjoyed every minute of the process! To begin, I lightly outlined the cookie cutter shape with a pencil on watercolor paper. Then, I stamped my image inside the ornament with a waterproof black stamp pad. At first, I wasn't sure where I wanted to take the card, so I started by painting the images from the Mini Christmas Village Set. I made a mask using computer paper to act as a stencil for sponging the edges of the ornament. I have included a photo below. Next, I painted freehand details on the ornament using metallic watercolor paints. I used the Watercolor Mini Wreath Set and the Watercolor Branches Set to paint in pine branches for the greenery.
